On November 2, 2023, the IC Department of LDCE inaugurated four new state-of-the-art facilities: Smart Classrooms (Room No. 252, 253), Computational Facility Centre (246), and Software Simulation Laboratory (248). These facilities, made possible through the generous support of alumni and donors, will play a pivotal role in enhancing the academic endeavors of LDCE students and advancing education and research in the fields of engineering and technology.
Event Highlights:
The inaugural ceremony commenced with a ribbon-cutting ceremony in smart classrooms 252 and 253. These classrooms are equipped with advanced smart 86 inch interactive panels, which will provide students with a more immersive and engaging learning experience. The smart classrooms have been made possible through the generous donation of Mr. Yogesh Morakhia, an alumnus of the IC batch of 1978.
The Computational facility centre (246) and software simulation laboratory (248) were unveiled with a curtain raiser by Dr. Shrinivas Deshpande. These facilities, established within the Instrumentation and Control Engineering Department, will provide students with access to high-performance computing resources and software tools for conducting cutting-edge research and simulations. The facilities have been established through a gracious donation by the late Dr. Mandakiniben Swapan Majumdar (Deshpande) and Dr. Swapan Majumdar at LDCE.
The ceremony continued in Tagore seminar hall with a solemn prayer and traditional lamp lighting ceremony. The lamp lighting ceremony is a symbolic gesture to usher in light and knowledge into the newly inaugurated spaces.
Distinguished alumni Dr. Deshpande and Shri Yogesh Moarakhia, along with LAA Office Bearers, Principal Dr. C. S. Sanghvi, and HODs of LDCE, were felicitated for their contributions to the success of this event and the development of LDCE's educational facilities.
Faculties of the IC department were also felicitated for their active contributions in research and laboratory development.
Impact of the New Facilities:
The inauguration of smart classrooms and the computational laboratories is a testament to LDCE's commitment to excellence in education and research. The new facilities will have a significant impact on the learning experience of LDCE students and the research capabilities of its faculty members.
The smart classrooms will provide students with a more interactive and engaging learning experience. The smartboards will allow students to collaborate more effectively with each other and with their instructors.
The Computational facility centre (246) and software simulation laboratory (248) will provide students with access to high-performance computing resources and software tools for conducting cutting-edge research and simulations. These facilities will help LDCE students to develop the skills and knowledge necessary to succeed in today's competitive job market.
The inauguration of smart classrooms and the computational laboratories is a momentous occasion for the IC Engineering Department of LDCE. The new facilities will play a pivotal role in enhancing the academic endeavors of LDCE students and advancing education and research in the fields of engineering and technology. LDCE is grateful to its alumni, donors, and well-wishers for their generous support in making this vision a reality.
